How the Day & Location were selected:
There is currently no Sunday market in the region; association members feel that Sundays are an untapped market day that will draw new customers and reach those that are not able to attend other area markets during the work week. An online survey generated more than 400 responses from those that self identified as Sunday market-goers, 85% of respondents indicated they would prefer to attend the market in a downtown location.
The group considered several factors when selecting a location for the market; 120 parking spaces are needed to accommodate vendor parking and display as well as customer parking. Factors such as visibility, traffic counts and survey results and proximity to residential areas were also considered in selecting a site for the market.
