Last call for vendors for this summer's Fresh Air Market series! The Fresh Air Market coincides with our Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series in July and August, in the hip and happenin' epicenter of West Market Square. If YOU are an artist, craftsperson, or simply an interesting dude/dudette with some unique wares to sell, we want to hear from you! Space is still available for vendors for this year's season, but time is running out. Give a holler to Zeth Lundy, Downtown Coordinator, at email@example.com no later than June 6th for more details! #coolsounds #freshairmarket #summertime #westmarketsquare ... See MoreSee Less
We are really digging these funky coin purses at Good Soul on Columbia Street. And have you seen their Oz-inspired putty? Or their Indonesian Dreamcatchers? Or their Harry Potter-themed necklaces? Note to self: get thyself to Good Soul... #shoplocal #crafty #goodsoul #heybangor ... See MoreSee Less
Coming to a recycling bin near you...the ubiquitous and zeitgeist-seizing photography of The Thing of the Moment! Thanks to the Downtown Bangor Partnership, the City of Bangor, and Bangor Greendrinks, Downtown Bangor will soon see new trash and recycling bins along Central and Main Streets, among other places. #reusereducerecycle #thethingofthemoment #heybangor ... People have kindly asked why I don't have public shows and I'm pleased to announce The Thing of the Moment's FIRST public show. Photos by your lowly and humble photographic servant will be appearing on trashcans donated by Bangor Greendrinks to the City of Bangor. ;) See a sample work below.
Sometimes Bangor Greendrinks has to have TWO monthly meet-up events, just because there are so many great people and businesses involved in making Downtown Bangor a better place. Tonight, head over to Explore Bangor for a bonus Greendrinks event, which will sponsor the good people at Friends of Lower Kenduskeag Stream (FOLKS) and their continued clean-up events. (Speaking of which: FOLKS' next work day is next Saturday, June 4th!) #heybangor #bangorgreendrinks #drinklocal #socializelocal #explorebangor ... See MoreSee Less
Greendrinks Explores Bangor
May 24, 2016, 5:00pm - May 24, 2016, 7:00pm
Summer is just around the corner and we think that calls for a little extra celebration! Join us for a special spring shindig hosted by Explore Bangor on the 4th Tuesday, May 24th, from 5-8pm. We’ll have cold beer, home brewed wine, and delicious snacks. The best part is that all of the proceeds from this event will be going directly towards improving the Kenduskeag Stream Trail by supporting Friends of Lower Kenduskeag Stream (FOLKS)!
If you haven’t heard of Explore Bangor yet, you're in for a treat.
Located in the former Metropolitan Soul storefront at 25 Hammond St., Explore Bangor offers bicycle, kayak and paddleboard rentals, as well as guided tours of the area.
The Friends Of Lower Kenduskeag Stream (FOLKS) have only been around for a year, but their efforts have helped transform a beautiful urban trail right in the heart of the city.
As usual, Greendrinks is family-friendly, although you’ll need an ID to drink alcohol. There’s a suggested $5 donation, and you’ll want to bring your own drinking vessel. If you don’t, we’ll have compostable cups for $1 or custom glassware for $5. See you there!
