It’s officially spring! Which means it will soon be time to get outside and garden!
On May 18th, the Downtown Bangor Beautification Committee would once again like to invite you and all your friends downtown to participate in THE BIG DIG.
The Big Dig is the day Adopt-A-Garden adopters, volunteers, passers-by, friends, and neighbors are invited to come downtown and help make our city bloom by helping to plant over 140 different gardens. Whether you have adopted a garden or just want to lend a hand for the day, you are welcome. All ages. All skill levels.
Come for an hour. Come for the day. Bring your gardening trowel, shovel, gloves, and watering can.
Volunteers will be based out of Norumbega Parkway between Franklin and Central Street. Stop on by our pop-up tent if you have questions or can’t find your garden. Mulch will be provided at Norumbega Parkway and at West Market Square.
Individuals and organizations seeking to volunteer at or sponsor this event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you haven’t adopted a garden yet, IT’S NOT TOO LATE!
Visit this form to claim your plot!
As a reminder to adopters, all gardens must be planted by June 3rd, or they will be opened back up for adoption.
We will be holding the Summer Solstice Garden Party in Norumbega Parkway on June 21st, so mark your calendars to come down and celebrate summer and the gardens!
