In this Intro to Torch Soldering Jewelry workshop, we’ll be creating a gorgeous Etruscan chain bracelet (or necklace, time permitting). Each individual link will be formed by you, soldered closed, then bent into the correct shape for interweaving.
You’ll learn about flux, oxidation, pickle, and more. You’ll learn how the metal behaves as it’s heating to the correct temperature to accept the solder, how the flux behaves, and what the metal looks like just before the melting point!
Once you’ve pick-soldered enough rings for this chain, you’ll have a nice grasp on torch soldering jewelry, and a lovely chain as well!
The price of this workshop varies, depending on the materials you’d like to work with. If you’d like to make a bracelet in copper, the workshop cost is $45.; for sterling silver, the workshop cost is $65.
Pre-registration is required.
