Bangor Waterfront

A thriving concert scene or a walk in the park!

The Bangor Waterfront has undergone a major renovation over the past twenty years; from an industrialized landscape to a lush greenway with trails and open space.  The Bangor Waterfront is one of the most relaxing places in town.  Along the banks of the Penobscot River the waterfront offers walking trails, benches and picnic tables.  The perfect place for a family picnic or pick-up football game the Waterfront is one of Bangor's greatest assets. The waterfront is also home to a heavy vessel dock that allows for cruise ships to visit Bangor.

The Bangor Waterfront is also home to major arts and cultural events such as the American Folk Festival, Craft Shows, Kah-Bang Festival, Waterfront Concerts, Wheels on the Waterfront Car Show and many others.  The waterfront continues to evolve; Future plans, when funding is secured, include an amphitheatre, butterfly garden, playground, splash pad and restrooms.
