Downtown Bangor Partnership (DBP) promotes and markets activities that enhance the distinctive identity of downtown Bangor, encouraging retention and growth of commercial, residential, and cultural life within the Downtown district.  One of the ways we do this is through organizing signature events and supporting events of our partners by assisting with publicity to bring people Downtown. 

Cool Sounds Summer Concerts & Outdoor Market - DBP organizes a free summer concert series in Pickering Square and the companion Outdoor Market series.  The event typically hosts 40+ vendors of Maine-made goods, crafts and food.  The free concerts offer a different entertainer each week. This event is generously funded by a corporate sponsor each year.

Downtown Countdown - DBP organizes the annual New Year’s Eve festivities. Downtown Countdowns in previous years have featured as many as 13 venues with over 25 activities/entertainment.  It is estimated that over 3,000 people attend each year; which includes the entertainment venues and midnight ball drop. This event is generously funded through sponsorships from local businesses.

Downtown Halloween Festival - 2012 marked the third year that DBP and partners organized their Downtown Halloween Festival which featured an outdoor market, free outdoor concert, mini costume parade and trick or treating at Downtown businesses.  Several businesses offered open "haunted" houses and Penobscot Theatre Company offered programming as well.

Downtown Holiday Festival Day - The first Saturday in December DBP collaborates with downtown businesses, Bangor Rotary and the City to host a “downtown festival”.  This included Santa’s Workshop, Santa Scavenger Hunt in downtown businesses, Bangor Rotary’s Festival of Lights Parade and the City’s Holiday Tree Lighting.

Santa’s Workshop - On Saturdays in December DBP organizes Santa's Workshop which offers parents the  opportunity to take pictures of their children with Santa & Mrs. Claus at no cost.
